愚公山を移す - Faith can move mountains
by Oliver W.

It is done!

We are ready for Milestone 4, which is in 3 days. What does that encompass?
Well first of all, we actually have a playable game where Clients can log into a remote Server and play the game in Multiplayer mode! (As well as Single-player mode of course). Leo has also redone the collision, so the entire gameplay experience up to the Winner-Screen is fluid and coherent.

All of this functionality can be accessed over a simple GUI. As of now, it runs on Windows and (with a ton of awkward tweaks also) on Mac. There's a little problem that prevents the game to run on Linux, but that only has to be by the 5th and final milestone. The fact that it all runs now, is also thanks to the numerous unit-tests that have been writing as a QA measure. To be honest, it is during that process when we have discovered some places in our code, where stuff didn't quite connect or was working but still felt/looked very dodgy. So, we could fix that thanks to our QA measures.

What we need to do now, is fill the game with content. More maps, textures and objects. I also still have to work on the Audio. As of now, all the assets we use in-game are created by us. So, we either have to create the additional assets too or we can use other free assets available online. We haven't made a decision on that yet, but it is mostly likely going to be that we are going to create the additional assets. Including audio! Stay tuned, to see how that will turn out haha

Apart from that, our website will be put online in a couple of days. There, you can find lots and lots of infos, screenshots (promo and in-game). We might also put up an executable demo (or full) version there. No guarantees though as of now, since we don't know exactly how we would have to package our game for that purpose.

Alright, that's it from us for now, guys! We'll update your after Milestone 4 to let you guys know how it went 👅

This is the end, beautiful friend ...

What's going on besides coding?

I think I finally see the finish line.
